Biographical Sketch

Adam Goobic completed his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2003. Goobic completed all requirements for the B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2002. His undergraduate thesis, "A Comparison of Trackers on Rolling Leukocytes In Vivo," was recognized as one of twelve finalists in the Undergraduate Research Design Symposium. He recently served as an officer in the United States Air Force at Hanscom Airforce Base in Boston, Mass.

Research Interests

Goobic's areas of research included background registration for intravital video microscopy and leukocyte tracking in vivo. Goobic's efforts helped produce a biomedical leukocyte tracking software program used by Dr. Klaus Ley's Cardiovascular Research Center laboratory group. Ley's research focuses on understanding leukocyte movement and the development of anti-inflammatory drugs. Goobic's studies concentrated on digital systems, communications, and signal processing. Additionally, goobic was also a member of the nationally ranked University of Virginia Men's Club Soccer team.
